Life Post Covid-19: New Protocols and How Our Clinic is Approaching Reopening

Here, at Myofascial Release Mississauga, our clients’ health and safety are at the topmost list of our priorities. As we start phase one of the clinic’s reopening to accommodate the needs of our clients, we have taken the time to ensure that we will not only be meeting the requirements governed by Ontario’s Covid-19 protocols but that we go above and beyond to create a safe environment for each visit.

Our priority is to continue to provide you the expertise, treatment, and environment to help you return to a pain-free, active lifestyle. After months of isolation and a lowered level of daily exercise, treatments at the clinic will be a tremendous step in getting back to the lifestyle you had before Covid-19. Physiotherapy is key for all those leaning on our support to remove the tension caused by inactivity and acute stress. As you regain your usual lifestyle, it is important to prepare your body to achieve the recovery it so needs during these times.

The social isolation we have experienced in the last few months can have serious and detrimental effects on our bodies and mental state, and it is imperative to take action to correct these effects as we begin to assimilate back into an active routine. It is our goal that as you begin your treatments, we do everything we can to make your visit as streamlined and as safe as possible.

While we continue to closely monitor all activities, our clinic has taken the time to put forward a strict plan to alleviate any concerns our clients might have when coming in for their in-person visit.

If you are ready to book your appointment, you can do so online or by giving us a call. Before your visit, we would encourage you to take a look at the following precautions to offer you peace of mind in preparation for your visit.

The Myofascial Release Mississauga Clinic Precautionary Measures:

  • Appointment booking, intake forms, payments, and invoices are done online through our Jane Booking System to make our administration completely contactless

  • All appointments will be followed by a 15-minute gap to allow our staff to clean and prepare for the next client while preventing unnecessary interaction with other clients

  • Please only arrive at your scheduled appointment time, no earlier or later to maintain this system

  • You will receive an email with a Covid-19 screening questionnaire 4 hours before your appointment that must be filled out

  • If you exhibit any possible Covid-19 symptoms you will be asked to reschedule your appointment or switch to a virtual appointment

  • Washrooms are for emergency use only, please use your facilities at home before your appointment

  • No one should accompany you to your appointment unless they are required for translation, physical support or are required as your guardian (for minors)

  • All our staff complete a Covid-19 self-assessment questionnaire before each shift and take their own temperature

  • All high touch surfaces including treatment tables and tools will be cleaned between each appointment

  • Fresh linens are used with each client

  • Air sanitizers are installed in each treatment room and in the waiting room to reduce the risk of infection through airborne particulate

At the time of your visit, and as per Health Ontario regulations, all clients will be required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask when you arrive, our staff will be able to provide one for you upon your arrival. The clinic is equipped with a hand-washing station that you can when you enter to assure the utmost cleanliness and barrier.

To facilitate an abundantly healthy environment at the clinic, our staff has taken the time to prepare with care and consideration for your visit. At the time of your arrival, your practitioner will greet you in the waiting area wearing a clean isolation gown, mask, and safety goggles. They will take your temperature using a contactless thermometer and review your Covid-19 screening questionnaire and only proceed with your appointment if it is safe to do so. Here at the clinic, we take such measures seriously and appreciate your understanding during this period of adjustment.

The clinic is open and ready to take on appointments, however, we do understand the worry surrounding the topic. Bearing in mind that some of our clients will not be able to attend in person, we have created an virtual (video call) appointment system to allow the ease of visitation without leaving one’s home.

During your online treatment, you can expect to receive a custom treatment via a secured video call that is tailored to help you manage any pain or discomfort that may have crept up during this time. You can access your appointment on any device with a stable internet connection and a functioning video camera. Your online appointment will partner you with a Registered Physiotherapist that will work with you one on one to make sure you receive premium, quality treatment for any pain no matter where you are located. And much like our in-person appointments, all online bookings are covered by most insurance providers!

For more information on our online appointment system, please refer to this article that will help answer all your questions about the process.

The staff of Myofascial Release Mississauga are determined to help our clients treat their physical and stress-related pain by alleviating the cause of the problem to make structural changes that will aid in your return to a pain-free lifestyle. With such, we take the additional responsibilities and precautions we have set in place seriously to uphold our commitment to our visitors.

We have reviewed the protocols set out by the province of Ontario and added additional measures because we believe that your health should be put first. In these times of uncertainty, we encourage you to take care of your body and are with you every step of the way. Our staff of registered practitioners are ready to work with you to provide the care you need in the way that makes you feel most comfortable.

We look forward to seeing you in our clinic. Please feel free to reach out to us using the following form on our website should you have any further questions or concerns.
